I.T. Suite

Glenroyd House Community Hub offers an I.T. Suite with eight computers, each equipped with Microsoft Office software. The suite provides a welcoming and accessible space for local residents to use computers, develop digital skills and complete important online tasks.

The facilities are available to community members of all ages and abilities, including people who do not have access to a computer at home, unemployed residents, jobseekers, students, older people and anyone wishing to improve their confidence using technology.

Users can browse the internet, create and update CVs, complete job applications, search for employment, access online learning, send emails, print documents and complete online forms. Microsoft Office software can be used to prepare letters, reports and applications, create spreadsheets, produce presentations and organise information. The suite may also support residents with accessing government services, managing appointments, completing benefit forms and staying connected with family, friends and support organisations.

Friendly assistance is available for anyone who needs help. Staff and volunteers can provide guidance with using the computers, setting up email accounts, navigating websites, creating documents, saving and printing work, and developing basic digital skills. Support is offered patiently and without judgement, helping users become more independent and confident.
